S1. E4. How I Find and Use True Stories As Inspirations For My Screenplays and Novels
In this episode I share with you three of my projects that are based on a true story and how I came across their extraordinary and hidden stories.
1. The River & the Ribbon (Mountains of the Moon) – Screenplay – The story of Florence Baker, from Hungarian Aristocrat, to slave, to famous explorer.

2. Lady Be Good – Screenplay – On April 4, 1943, the young, green crew of the “Lady Be Good,” (a B-24 Liberator) took off from an American air base on it’s way to a bombing air-raid over Naples, Italy. 25 Liberators were sent, 24 returned. Fifteen years later, the perfectly-preserved missing bomber was spotted in the Libyan desert with no sign of the crew.

3. The Abduction of Nelly Don – Novel – It’s December 17, 1931. Nelly Don, millionaire fashion designer, has been kidnapped. It’s no ordinary kidnapping and no ordinary rescue attempt. Before it’s over, a powerful Senator may see his downfall and a Syndicate Crime Boss will have played a major role.
