My Connection to H.W. Bush, May He Rest In Peace

I have not always been a fan of President HW Bush…

… because of some of his policies which hurt minority communities. He was not a perfect President, but no one can say that he ever had ill intentions, or that he acted with malice.

I have always respected him as a man. Remember when both political parties used to listen to each other, and work together, the way Jeff Flake and Chris Coons do?

I can’t help but feel saddened by his passing, and that of John McCain as well. They were the type of politicians that should be emulated.

That brings me to my connection with President H.W. Bush.  I’m not only an author and Sensitivity Reader, I am also the founder of a non-profit charity (established in 1993).  I was recognized for my work by President H.W. Bush and President Clinton.

Yes, these two men worked together in order to recognize community leaders and the volunteer spirit. I was and am very proud to be recognized as such.

Time has a way of washing away the bad and highlighting the good in people. As time passes on, we, no doubt will discover more about HW Bush that will make us proud.
